Terms — What the Installed Number Settles

A figure quoted on the phone comes from the tiers on the installation page, and you are told it is a range. The written quote comes after the site visit and itemizes the equipment, the pad, the fuel line, the transfer switch, the permits and the startup. Once it is written and you accept it, that is the price of the project.

• The unit and its pad or composite base, placed to code clearances.
• The fuel connection: gas piping sized from the meter, or the LP plumbing and tank coordination.
• The automatic transfer switch, mounted and wired at your panel.
• Permits and inspections in your county, with the paperwork handed to you at the end.
• The commissioning run and the weekly self-exercise schedule set on the controller.

County electrical and gas permits are part of the price and part of the job. Where a homeowners' association reviews exterior equipment, common in the newer Pooler subdivisions, securing that approval is your part, and the install date is set once it lands. Placement follows the code clearances and, on flood-zone lots, the elevation rules for mechanical equipment.

Natural-gas service is confirmed with the utility before a unit is ordered. Where the house runs on propane, the tank, its fill and its supply are between you and your propane supplier; a generator installed on an empty tank runs on nothing, and keeping the tank filled ahead of the season is yours.

After a named storm, units back-order across the region and every calendar fills. A quote carries the lead time it was written with, calls are answered in the order they arrived, and nobody here will promise an install before landfall that cannot happen; the storm-week playbook says so in plain words.

This website's job ends when the installer calls you back. The installer who runs the load calculation is the one who pours the pad, pipes the gas and wires the transfer switch, and the install is theirs from pad to panel. Have that installer show proof of insurance at the site visit; the question is a normal part of hiring anyone to open your panel.
